Benefits

There is no “one-size-fits-all” benefits solution. For decades, Summit has been creating benefits packages tailored to the diverse needs of organizations and individuals.

As employers, you recognize that your employees’ health and security is important to business productivity. Our qualified benefits specialists provide comprehensive and customized solutions that suit your organization and its most vital asset, your hard-working employees.

Companies

Summit assists large, mid-sized, and small organizations, whether publicly held, privately owned, or non-profit. With experience across all industry sectors, our professionals evaluate and identify the right benefits package for your organization.

Individuals

Our knowledgeable professionals work directly with your plan participants, educating them about all aspects of their benefit options, guiding them through the enrollment process, and providing continued assistance throughout their employment with your organization.

Group Benefits

A well-designed benefits plan eliminates confusion for plan sponsors and optimizes cost control for both your organization and your employees.

Fully Insured Plans

Fully Insured Benefit Plans offer a more traditional approach. Summit is not bound by production requirements nor obligated to contract with any insurance company or service provider.

This gives us the freedom to perform due diligence without bias and recommend the insurance carriers and coverages that most closely align with your objectives.

Prescription Drug Cost Initiative

Prescription drug costs often exceed 20-30% of a medical plan’s overall cost. Our Prescription Drug Cost Initiative will give you access to a purchasing coalition that focuses on 100% pass-through contracts, ongoing clinical evaluations, and auditable results.

Retirement Plans

A diversified retirement plan is more than a benefit, it is a necessity. Our advisors are process-driven, serving as fiduciaries on your plan and providing advice to your committee.

After evaluating your current plan, we make investment recommendations suited to your organization’s specific needs and objectives. We also educate your employees about your organization’s retirement plan and provide one-on-one meetings to discuss plan participants’ individual goals.

COBRA Administration

COBRA benefits must be offered to qualified former participants of organizations with 20 or more full-time employees. Time limits and minimum requirements can be complex, with strict regulatory guidelines.

Our team tailors solutions that limit your liability and adhere to required regulations and timelines.

Concierge Call Center

Our call center expands your HR capacity. By providing your organization with its own private-labeled “800” number, we answer the day-to-day benefit calls on behalf of your HR department.

Voluntary Benefits

With a variety of affordable options, you can offer employees additional protection to cover unforeseen costs due to illness, accidents, and other unexpected events.

Cancer Insurance, Critical Illness Insurance, Identity Theft Protection, and other benefits complement your core benefits package.

Benefits Administration

The foundation and continuous maintenance of your employee benefits plan is vital. Through our administrative platform and consolidated business service, our skilled associates organize and manage all your employee benefits within a single firm.

Direct Provider Contracting

PPO plans are being rapidly replaced by Direct Provider Contracting. This strategy helps employers minimize costs by contracting directly with providers at a percentage of Medicare and with no balance billing to the member.

Let our specialists determine if this is the best strategy for your organization.

Pension Administration

Our Third-Party Administrators (TPA’s) serve as consultants to design a retirement plan that meets your organization’s goals.

Whether you’re a business owner with several companies or a small company with 1-2 employees who wants to maximize your retirement contributions, we design custom plans to fit your situation. We implement strategies for these qualified plans to make sure they are compliant with the complex laws and IRS regulations that apply.

Consolidated Billing

We manage your employee eligibility and invoice reconciliation. A single itemized bill eliminates multiple bills and invoices.

HSA, FSA and HRA Administration

Health Savings Accounts, Flexible Spending Accounts, and Health Reimbursement Arrangements are becoming more popular options as health care costs continue to rise.

We administer these consumer-driven plans, allowing your participants to enroll in affordable, tax-preferred health plans. These options offer more flexibility in how your plan participants pay for qualified health care expenses while adding extra value to your overall benefits package.

Self-Funded Plans

A self-funded benefit plan allows you to customize your organization’s health care plan through cost controls with ongoing reporting.

Our benefits specialists include: consultants, nursing staff, case management, utilization review, and reinsurance specialists who will work with you to develop strategies that protect your organization from potential risks, giving you information and options to reduce costs.

Bundled Provider Pricing

Bundled Pricing helps participants make informed decisions about where to seek medical care. Due to our numerous contracts with medical providers, Summit offers benefits with zero out-of-pocket costs while lowering employer claims cost.

We have a vast selection of Bundled Provider Pricing options that fit groups of any size. Our advisors can determine if a bundled option is right for you.

HR Consulting

Summit is a leading provider of human resources support.

Whether or not you have an HR staff, our team of professionals is ready to assist you with compliance, regulations, efficiency of internal employee practices, and development of customized plans that facilitate and promote necessary change.

Family Medical Leave Act (FMLA) Administration

Employees can feel secure with FMLA benefits should an unexpected family medical event or other qualifying event occur.

Organizations that employ 50 or more full-time employees within a 75-mile radius must comply with the FMLA. Our qualified advisors can manage FMLA-related issues on your behalf and educate your employees about their rights under this act.

Online Benefits Enrollment

This service makes it easier to access your benefits from a smartphone, laptop, or desktop computer. It also allows participants to enroll online in real time.

Using our cloud-based platform, administrators have access to billing reconciliation tools, are alerted when specific actions must take place, and can view updated participant information at the click of a button.

Summit treats our employee benefits plan as if it were their own. Their diligence in securing the best provider arrangements, often including multiple negotiations with carriers, has resulted in best-in-class benefits for our employees. The Summit team is constantly evaluating the landscape of employee benefits, and seeks to be on the forefront of creative solutions to lower the cost of delivering superior employee benefits.
