Christopher Healy is director of business development for Summit Financial Group’s operations in the New England region.

His career is shaped by a lifetime of decision-making experiences and influential service within local, state and federal legislative campaign operations, as well as the U.S. Executive Branch. With extraordinary communications talents, an affable nature, and tenacious work ethic, Chris ignites and cultivates integrated business relationships.
Since 2007, Chris has served as chairman of the Connecticut Republican Party, and chairman of Northeast Chairs of the RNC. He was a delegate at the RNC’s 2000, 2004 and 2008 national conventions, and has served on the party’s Resolutions Committee.
For nearly the passed decade, Chris has managed and directed the operations of a public relations and government affairs firm based in Wethersfield, CT. During that period, as the state’s GOP chairman, he directed and implemented strategy with the Office of the Governor, Lieutenant Governor, as well as the House and Senate leadership and a 72-member state committee. His abilities to create and cultivate coalitions throughout various policy making and regulatory levels are consistently effective.
Prior to 2004, he was manager of government relations with Updike, Kelly and Spellacy, guiding media and public policy outreach efforts for Fortune 500 companies within the health care, insurance, high-tech, energy and retail sectors. In the early 90‘s, he served several Connecticut industries with representation before the state legislature and administrative agencies on their behalf. In 1992, Chris worked in the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development preparing briefing materials and congressional testimonies for the Assistant Secretary and Secretary of HUD.
Chris’ leadership propensity is further magnified by his senior-level positions with numerous legislative candidacy campaigns. He was the manager of Rob Simmons’ U.S House of Representatives campaign for Connecticut’s Second Congressional District, as well as Sebastian Giuliano’s Mayoral campaign in Middletown, CT. And he was the senior advisor to Jack Orchulli’s 2004 U.S. Senate campaign. Chris has also held key state-level positions in Connecticut to bolster George W. Bush’s 2004 Presidential candidacy, John McCain’s 2000 Presidential bid, and Bob Dole’s run for President in 1996.
He lends boundless energies throughout several area civic and professional organizations. He is a member of the World Affairs Council in Hartford, CT., a past Vice President and Member of the Board of Directors of the Connecticut Rivers Council - Boy Scouts of America, and a member of the Rotary Club of Hartford, as well as a Paul Harris Fellowship Winner.
In Wethersfield, CT., where he and his wife Suzan reside, Chris is a member of the Wethersfield Board of Ethics, Wethersfield Charter Revision Committee, and the community’s Justice of the Peace.
Chris holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Denison University in Granville, OH.
